2016 opened with happy greetings as learners welcomed each other back to school. John Wesley will be following the national school calendar, which means the first term opened on Wednesday, 13 January and will close on Friday, 18 March.
We have a Grade R class which is being taught by Mrs Engelbrecht and her loving and energetic helper Miss Elizabeth. There are 22 learners in the preschool class. Mrs Engelbrecht is also the netball coach.
Mrs Wynne continues to instruct the Grade 1 class and this year she has 25 eager pupils. She is assisted by Auntie Nelisiwe.
The Grade 2 teacher is Mrs Ngwenya and she has 21 excited students, while in Grade 3 we have Mrs McDonald and her 16 lively learners. Joining the Grade Threes will be Miss Duggan who is studying to be a Foundation Phase Teacher!
Grade 4 and 5 are once again a combined class with Mrs Singery and Miss Charlene. They also have Auntie Mbali helping out a few hours each day.
And Mr Stuart rounds off the roster as the teacher of the combined Grade 6 and 7. Mr Stuart also coaches cricket, soccer, cross country and athletics.
We are looking forward to a year full of fun, hard work, learning and sport.
